Grocery shampoos vs Salon brands

I hate doing this subject but it needs to be addressed! :)

Pantene commercials lie! All those celebritys with there big shiny volumized hair flowing in them makes me laugh. And this picture does too! I dont quite get it but it makes me laugh none the less!

A little info and differences about Pantene vs. Salon Brands...

-P&G is the makers of Pantene. They also make laundry detergent, prilosec and toilet paper!

-All salon brands actually only make products for hair, skin, make-up and nails.

Biggest Difference...

The quality and quantity of the ingredients are not even close to being as concentrated as the salon options. It is the high concentration of such ingredients that make salon products so much more effective than their cheaper counterparts.

Therefore the less expensive hair products do not have the molecules or concentrations to properly moisturize the hair like a high-end product can.

LIES LIES LIES LIES LIES

Pantene...Garnier fructis...Herbal Essence...Tresseme...Suave all have "color treated" shampoos.

The only thing that it is going to "treat" is your floor. Grocery store brand shampoos contain waxes that coat the hair's cuticle. Resulting in major wax build-up. They also have ingredients in them that strip that color right out.

What have you learned?

Do not purchase grocery store shampoos - even if it is a high end brand (THATS A WHOLE NOTHER POST IN ITSELF, coming soon!!!)

I don't want to spend that much! - Please do! Since salon brand shampoos are so concentrated you don't need that much. A dime to quarter size will do! There are also low priced products out there.

Also some of the bigger corporate salons (Beauty First, Salon Brand, Wholesale Beauty Club) have sales on their products weekly!
