halfway around the world

my mom is halfway around the world in the Philippines. she left feb. 22nd and will be back march 10th or so.

she is a nurse. and a good one at that. :) she is helping with surgeries along side a missionary doctor in remote villages.

she has been in contact with us through her iTouch. it is so interesting and crazy the stuff she is experiencing. totally makes me feel like i take my ENTIRE world for granted.

here are some things that is going on in her life right now...

(it's a bit long but very very interesting)

It's 0520. Chickens are very vocal. As well as night bugs. Weldon prays with patients in his bedroom, earl Filipino nurse dispenses meds from pharmacy, payment by donations.

Yesterday it was two 2 liter bottles coke, basin of fresh fish with head's still attached and mangos.

Clinic is held on 1st floor of house. Sheri found ants all over her bra this am, lizard on the wall, occ. roach.

Saving on hair product-just don't use it. I am quite the site I am sure.

Air is very moist. Brush teeth with bottled water. Drinking water twice boiled.

Making our breakfast which will include rice.

Small earthquake. House shook for awhile.

We r one hour from general Santos city. Can only get here by land rover,crossed river three times. My eyes were closed.

Hot, happy. TV in some huts. Can not drink water or brush teeth with it.

Sitting on those famous white plastic chairs.

Rice at every meal. Hot dogs for bkf. Wonderful mango,banana, pineapple, green beans.

During surgery sound of roosters, no screen on windows , little light, relying on sunlight.

Beautiful sunset. In a valley.

Pray for her safe travels back home!!
